update

T-minus 8 days till moving in day! Yippee!!! I managed to pack up 9 boxes today. They are all stacked up in a corner of our living room. I take that back they are actually starting to take over our living room!

Jay's follow up went well. He is now in a hard cast just below he knee. 3 weeks with it on. Then 2 weeks with a bubble cast (?) and then physical therapy. This of course could change but we hope he has a speedy recovery. He is really struggling with the sitting on his butt at home thing, and has moments of becoming cranky and irritable. Jeff (a friend and new addition to creative landcare) has been taking him out now and again to look at jobs check on the estate, its been good for Jay to get out. Apparently he had 22 staples put into the side of his leg, Yikes!!

So there you go a little update for you...

The peaceful sound of snoring....

I am listening to Jay snore through the baby monitor and feeling thankful that he is finally able to get some rest. The morning got worse for him and after quite a while was finally able to get in contact with someone at his Dr office to help him with the pain. A stronger dose of Percocets and some strong Ibuprofen where given seemed to have done the trick. Hopfeully they will continue to work.

Also it seems that my previous post about how many plates and screws was wrong. It seems they put in 2 plates and 8 screws! One screw for two plates doesn't sound right anyway? So now we just need to get past these first couple days which are always that hardest.

exhausted...

Jay was told by the nurse to take his pain meds before going to bed in case the nerve blocker wore off in the middle of the night.... So he took two tylenol with vicoden one at 11pm and then one an hour later at midnight...

At 2:30 he was awoken by pain. By 3 he was puching the bed. I gave him a percocet. Then Dr Leitman. He said to give him another percocet and continue with them 2 every 4hours. As they are stronger than the vicoden.

Around 3:20 he began to talk a LOT. About the pain...and the pain meds, by 3:30 he had moved on to talkin about the kids. I went and grabbed the laptop and put on some music for him to listen too. He then played tetris and snood His talk became a little lighter and I noticed he wasn't talking about the pain as much. Eliza had woken up and joined our early morning "party". At 5am he was starting to settle and sleep, still talking about why the pain was still there? At 5:30 he asked for another percocet, and honestly I can't even remember if I gave it to him??? I know thats bad.

We all did eventually fall asleep. Its now 8am and he is still sleeping I just woke him to give him another dose of the percocet hoping it will ward off the pain before it starts again.

So I am exhausted... and can only hope that the percocets continue to work and he doesn't have to feel that pain again.

tomorrows the day

Surgery is scheduled for 11:30 tomorrow morning. I don't think it's really set in yet for me that he is having surgery. That they are putting metal things into his body. A bit weird. Jay is mostly anxious just wanting it to be over with.

Think good thoughts for him please and I'll update as soon as I can!

Our little fatty....

So our little Miss Eliza is not so little. She is now "lil fatty" Cause she weighs 10 lbs!! At one month old. 75% percentile. Cracks me up. Her height is 75% too! Not sure what Jaden was at this point I'll have to look and see...I do believe she is going to take after him though and she may be out weighing her older sister very soon. Well a year or so anyway.

She is obviously quite healthy and doing so very well. She looked so big next to the one week old that was in there. In comparison Annie looks so tiny in her swim class. I think I forgot to write about that. Jaden and Annie were signed up for swimming lessons the next two weeks. Its Jadens 3rd year, and Annies 1st. She loves it, and is doing quite well. But she just looks so tiny next to the others in her class, and just in general watching her swim with a kickboard as big as herself!

Jay is hanging in, still in lots of pain. But I think hes going struggle more with being couch/bed bound. Hes used to always being on the go. This is gonna be hard, for him and us. So I need some suggestions for things to get for him. To keep him busy. Any good books out there for him to read that you know of? Movies he should see? Games he could play? I'm still working on that checkers set soon hopefully that'll be good for him to play with Jaden. He's going to get bored quickly of just sittin' and sleepin' soon enough.

Leave me some suggestions in the comments. What would you do if you were couch bound?
